Titanvolt appointed exclusive battery partner for Argyll Energy Developments’ sovereign AI infrastructure
Manchester, UK – 30 April – Titanvolt has been confirmed as the sole battery provider for Argyll Energy Developments (AED), joining a strategic ecosystem of global technology leaders including SambaNova.
The announcement was made during AED’s launch event at the Equinix Data Centre in Manchester. Titanvolt’s energy storage systems will serve as the critical interface between intermittent renewable generation and the continuous requirements of a pioneering off-grid AI data centre model.
The event featured a live demonstration of SambaNova’s AI data racks, highlighting superior processing power with significantly lower energy consumption. Crucially, the SambaNova system is air-cooled, further reducing power demand and eliminating the need for intensive water usage.
This efficiency makes the system ideally suited to AED’s renewable-first rollout, where Titanvolt LTO batteries will play a critical role in both Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) deployments.
Scott Bang, CEO of Grinergy, noted the global significance of the partnership –

The first phase involves a MW-scale mini data centres in Scotland, demonstrating a closed-loop energy model. By utilising Titanvolt’s battery technology to stabilise waste-to-energy, wind, and solar inputs, the facility can operate entirely off-grid, bypassing the years-long wait for grid constraints while ensuring 100% renewable uptime. This pilot forms the blueprint for a wider hyper scale development plan for the UK’s first large-scale, renewably-powered sovereign AI cloud.
