TITANVOLT BATTERY INNOVATOR SCOTT BANG REINFORCES GLOBAL PARTNERSHIP WITH CONFIDENCE-BUILDING UK VISIT

Titanvolt’s Neill Richardson says the latest UK visit from Grinergy CEO Scott Bang is another sign of the global significance of the partnership’s next-generation battery systems.

The South Korean developer of Titanvolt’s revolutionary lithium titanium oxide (LTO) battery was in the UK to meet with investors and look at potential manufacturing sites.

Testing and feasibility

He also visited the University of St Andrews, where the LTO system has been undergoing testing at the Colin Vincent Centre for Battery Technology, and met representatives from Scottish Development International (SDI).

SDI helps businesses invest in Scotland and has been supporting the testing as well as committing to a feasibility study for the preferred manufacturing site.

Global impact

“We’ve been delighted to welcome Scott back to the UK,” said Titanvolt CEO Neill, who visited South Korea earlier this year. “The relationship between Scott, Grinergy and Titanvolt is a truly international one, and demonstrates the confidence we have in our battery technology to make an impact on a world level.”

Titanvolt’s pouch cell battery, which has no fire risk, is cleaner, safer and more energy efficient than other battery types. It’s also 95% recyclable. In the first round of testing at St Andrews, the LTO battery was praised for its ‘exceptional performance’.

Emerging technologies

The technology was developed by Grinergy and is being brought to market in the UK and Europe by Titanvolt. As well as developing advanced energy storage systems, the two firms are also developing next-generation battery systems for emerging technologies, such as hydrogen infrastructure, hydrogen-powered buses and mining vehicles.

“Our good relationship is an essential part of the future success of our businesses,” added Neill.
