TITANVOLT WILL ‘GET THE JOB DONE’ IN NORTH EAST WITH SUPPORT FROM NEW BATTERY BRITAIN COMMUNITY

CEO Neill Richardson has told the UK battery sector that the collaborative spirit within the industry and the North East’s reputation for hard work will be key factors in Titanvolt’s drive for global success.

Neill was speaking at Battery Britain’s showcase in Newcastle – the latest in a series of events that are uniting business, policymakers, academia and investors to boost the UK’s energy storage future.

Launched in March at the House of Lords, Battery Britain supports the UK government’s vision for a thriving battery innovation ecosystem and to become a world leader in sustainable design, manufacture and use.

“I’ve been impressed by the collaborative spirit within the UK battery sector,” said Neill. “We all recognise the need for diverse solutions and the power of working together.

“Events like today’s Battery Britain showcase are crucial for building these bonds and driving collective growth.”

North East’s industrial evolution

Neill also revealed to delegates that he was proud to be taking the stage in what is his home city.

He said: “Titanvolt is committed to building its foundations right here in the North East – not just because I’m a Geordie, but also because of the tangible value we’ve seen from this area, the businesses, the universities and the people we’ve met along the journey.

“We’ve all witnessed the region’s industrial evolution, from the challenges left behind by the decline of coal and shipbuilding to the resurgence brought by Nissan in the 80s, and now by the exciting potential of a robust battery sector.

“This region for me has always been about getting the job done, and although we are also looking for investment from around the world, our roots will always be firmly planted here.”

Revolutionary LTO batteries

Titanvolt is revolutionising the sector with cutting-edge lithium titanate (LTO) hybrid batteries that overcome the inherent limitations of traditional batteries. The pouch cell battery, which has no fire risk, is more energy efficient than other battery types and is 95% recyclable. It has been developed by Grinergy, a leading South Korean battery manufacturer, and brought to market by Titanvolt.
